Artist Alphonse Mucha was a respected leader of the Art Nouveau movement or the ‘New Art’ movement. He earned fame for his iconic commercial posters, which were elaborate and highly decorative – and incredibly beautiful. Such as this gorgeous lithograph for publishers, F. Champenois.
His philosophy was that everything could be transformed into works of art, from wallpaper to furniture, clothing to promotional posters.
